Auto-Tune is a proprietary audio processor created by Antares Audio Technologies. Auto-Tune uses a phase vocoder to correct pitch in vocal and instrumental performances. It is used to disguise off-key inaccuracies and mistakes, and has allowed singers to perform perfectly tuned vocal tracks without the need of singing in tune. While its main purpose is to slightly bend sung pitches to the nearest true semitone (to the exact pitch of the nearest tone in traditional equal temperament), Auto-Tune can be used as an effect to distort the human voice when pitch is raised/lowered significantly.I think it's pretty noticeable when people start using this excessively. The artist who made it quite famous is T-Pain. I don't really listen to his music, although I've heard of him numerous times in the past. There is an app for the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad family called I Am T-Pain. Basically, it can take anyone's voice and can auto-tune it for fun, like a crying baby or President Barack Obama.
Can auto-tune make the work environment more fun?
Perhaps, but you may lose some friends.

Did I buy the application for myself?
YES.
Will I give you guys a demo?
YES. And it might be one of the worst decisions I have ever made.
